In the past sugar was known as “white gold,” because it was a rare and expensive commodity. Sugar is a popular ingredient in skin care products today because it:
• acts as a natural exfoliator
• does not clog pores
• helps eliminate blemishes
• restores balance to skin’s oils
Sugar contains glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that is crucial for maintaining healthy skin. The natural glycolic acid in sugar not only helps condition and moisturize skin, but protect it from toxins.
To make our Whipped Sugar Scrubs, we use pure cane sugar (raw sugar) that is made from clarified cane juice boiled down to a crystalline solid. We do not use the less expensive white sugar, because bone char is used to make it white in color and it is not vegan.
When you regularly exfoliate your skin with a sugar scrub, it becomes healthier in appearance and function. After dead skin has been exfoliated, your body’s largest organ works more efficiently to expel toxins and take in nourishment. Skin becomes more uniform in appearance, is softer to touch, and has a radiant glow. Sugar scrubs are also gentler, less dehydrating than salt scrubs and be used by all skin types.

Anti-bacterial Facial Scrub:
Baking soda is especially beneficial for acne-prone skin. Add three teaspoons of water to two tablespoons of baking soda to make a paste and apply it to your face, rubbing gently in a circular motion. Rinse, pat skin dry, and apply a light layer of moisturizing cream.
Deep Conditioning Hair Mask & Moisturizing Hand Mask:
Olive oil is rich in polyphenols, which are antioxidants that help stop the spread of free radicals and also the damage caused by pollution, smoking, alcohol, and sun exposure. Apply Extra Virgin Olive Oil to your hair and leave it on for 5 minutes as a deep conditioning hair mask. While you clean your kitchen, you can add a few drops of essential oils to a teaspoon of olive oil, rub the mixture into your hands and put on your rubber gloves for a deeply hydrating hand mask. Rinse after 5 to 10 minutes.
Moisturizing Face Mask:
Bananas are very moisturizing because of their high potassium content. To make this mask, you can simply mash one banana and massage it onto your face and neck. Remove with warm water after 10 minutes.
Soothing Blemish Treatment:
Honey (make sure you use pure, without any added flavorings) inhibits the growth of certain bacteria, so it is great for oily or blemish prone skin. Apply honey to your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse face gently using a warm wash cloth.

Bergamot/Ylang Ylang:
The fresh citrus scent of Bergamot is uplifting, relaxing, and helps soothe anxiety. Ylang Ylang oil is known for its euphoric, aphrodisiac, sedative, antidepressant, and stress-relieving properties. It has a sweet, soft floral aroma with a hint of spice.
Bourbon Geranium:
The essential oil of Bourbon Geranium creates a soothing and stress relieving aromatherapy experience. Bourbon Geranium has a minty rosy aroma. The scent is uplifting and inspiring, promotes stability and balance, and relieves symptoms of stress, PMS and menopause.
Lavandin/Litsea Cubeba:
The essential oils of Lavandin and Litsea Cubeba create an experience of relaxation and bliss and release a lavender lemon aroma. Lavandin is known to be balancing, soothing, and relaxing. It also helps to relieve stress and headaches. Litsea Cubeba oil has an uplifting and stimulating aroma reminiscent of lemons.
Vanilla/Lime:
To create a comforting and uplifting aromatherapy experience we use the essential oils of Vanilla and Lime. Obtained from cured vanilla beans, vanilla oil has a richly sweet comforting aroma. Cold expressed from the peel, lime essential oil is stimulating and uplifting.
Our Organic Solid Perfumes are perfect for traveling, since they do not spill and will easily fit inside a pocket or purse. They are housed in 1/2 oz. aluminum tins with an organza pouch. The organic grape seed oil is skin nurturing and we have recently doubled the amount of essential oil we use, so that the scent lasts even longer.
