Rose is one of the most expensive essential oils, as is neroli (orange flower), melissa (lemon balm), tuberose (an absolute obtained through enfleurage), and jasmine (an absolute, or a concrete, as opposed to the steam distilled oil). If you look at the cost of rose essential oil, in today’s marketplace you’d spend around $5,000 for one pound. It is expensive because it takes close to 2 tons of petals to press out a pound of the essential oil. 12,000 pounds of jasmine flowers are needed to produce two pounds of the oil absolute.
We use both neroli and jasmine in our solid perfumes. Love’s Embrace contains jasmine in its blend of six precious essential oils, whereas Seductress contains both neroli and jasmine in its blend of eight precious essential oils.

Great products that you have! Interesting stats on how many rose petals it takes to make rose oil. David Crowe, author of In Search of the Medecine Buddha, has a great article on the topic too where he talks about the harvesting of the rose petals.
